Once you have completed your course and passed the course exam> you are now prepared to go forward in taking the state exam. The first step is applying to get on the list of people who will be taking the exam. Here you make application for the exam given in a particular location and wait for the state to get back with you on when you will be allowed to take the exam. They also offer for you to take the exam online.
Your next step would be to sign up for a weekend cram course the weekend before your exam is scheduled. You have just taken in a lot of new material of which some you do not and will not use every day. This material is all going to be on the exam. I can not tell you how many people I know that have failed the state exam over and over. It is not an easy exam and you must have all of the material fresh in your brain before you attempt to take it. The weekend cram courses do an excellent job of preparing you for what is in store. I feel that one of the biggest mistakes people make is to not take this last course before the exam. If you take my advice on this I promise you will be glad that you did. There is an online option for this as well but you will have to check the laws in your state.
When you go in to take the exam I highly recommend that you go through the entire exam once answering all of the questions that you know the answers to very quickly. Knock out most of the exam this way first. Then go back and work on the ones that you found a bit more difficult. You do have to achieve I believe a 79 or higher in order to receive a passing grade. One point can make the difference between having to take it again or not. You must take the process very seriously or you will be taking it again.
